Pain is nameless...

There is no pain greater than your mother not recognizing you...

Wondering who the stranger is sitting with her...

I wanted to scream... "It's ME, Mom! Tammy, your baby, your little girl..."
I didn't.
I just sat with her.
And tried to make light conversation.

All the time she looked at me with no recognition in her eyes.

This is one of the greatest pains I have known.
